Galit Stam, M.A.

Galit Stam is a passionate, caring educator with over a dozen years of experience teaching history, social studies, English language arts, math, speed reading, art, Social Emotional Learning, Hebrew, and Israeli dance for people of all ages (kindergarteners to adults). Galit strongly believes that building a great relationship with students and a happy learning environment is key to success because students need to feel safe to be open to learning. She considers herself a “warm demander” that sets high expectations while infusing learning with lots of fun and joy. Galit believes students should enjoy the process of learning as they are ushered into their zone of proximal development, the space between what they can do independently and what they can do with support. She knows a good teacher will help students find self-actualization to achieve their best by promoting “growth mindset” with a focus on the word “yet.” This encourages her students to value mistakes as a part of learning in a positive and safe environment. Galit leads students with engaging, thought-provoking lessons that instill interest, knowledge, creativity, and analytical skills.

Galit earned a Bachelor’s in Global Studies from University of California, Santa Barbara, a Master’s in History, and a Certificate in Postsecondary Education and Teaching Credential from San Diego State University. In addition, she is bilingual in Hebrew and a certified online instructor. Galit is also an avid reader and a life-long learner who continuously strives to improve her skills and expand her knowledge. She enjoys regular participation in professional development seminars in education and history as both a student and presenter.

In addition to enjoying time with her children, husband, and dog, Galit loves being active in the great outdoors. She takes pleasure in getting creative with art, music, dance, math games, learning and teaching. Galit also works hard to practice a healthy lifestyle and mindfulness with a focus on gratitude.
